AskCody Exchange Forwarding Service (AEFS) is a Windows service which forwards meeting related data from Exchange to AskCody. The service must run on a Windows server on your network, but not on the Exchange server itself.
The service depends on the following:
- Windows Server 2008 SP2 or later
- .NET Framework 4.5
Setting up AEFS is a three-step process. First, you must install AEFS using the AEFS Installer provided to you by AskCody. Second, you must install the actual Windows service. Third, you must configure AEFS so that it knows how to connect to your Exchange server and which calendars it should forward meeting data from.
To install AEFS, simply run the provided installer and follow the instructions on the screen. As part of the installation, an AEFS folder containing various shortcuts will be placed on the desktop.
To install the Windows service, open the AEFS shortcut folder on the desktop and click the Install Service shortcut. You will be prompted for the username and password of the Windows user that the service will run as.
To configure AEFS, start the Windows service by clicking Start Service in the AEFS shortcut folder. This will create the necessary folders and files to enable configuration of the service. No meeting data will be forwarded at this time. You can now edit the config.json configuration file located in %APPDATA%\AskCody\Exchange\ForwardingService. Once you are done editing and have saved the configuration file, simply restart the service.
